This policy explains how North collects and uses your personal information, in line with South Africa's Protection of Personal Information Act (POPIA).

What we collect

• To buy: your name, WhatsApp number, and delivery address, so we can deliver your order and contact you about it.
• To sell: your name, phone number, email, pickup address, and banking details, so we can list your items and pay you out.
• Automatically: basic usage analytics (pages viewed, searches, actions taken) using a first-party cookie. This data is anonymous, stays on our own servers, and is never sold or shared with advertising networks. Your IP address is stored only in hashed form.

How we use it

• To process reservations, deliveries, and seller payouts.
• To send you transactional SMS updates about your order or listing.
• To understand how the marketplace is used so we can improve it and source items people want.

Who we share it with

Only the service providers needed to run North: our SMS provider (to send you messages) and our address lookup provider (to find your address). We do not sell your data or use third-party advertising trackers.

How long we keep it

For as long as needed to provide the service and meet our legal obligations, after which it is deleted or anonymised.
